One Night Stands debut album
Review By Barend Paul Barnard
The One Night Stands released their debut album - The One Night Stands - in September 2008. The album was recorded with Matthew Fink and released by Sting Music. The band is already having success with their first single, "Seconds" reaching number one on 5fm's Hi 5 @ 5 and staying there for two weeks. The sound of the album is nostalgic yet uplifting Indie-rock. All the songs are well thought of and even though each track is unique it still carries the distinct style that easily defined as The One Night Stands'. According to me the best tracks on The Disk are "Seconds", "Candy" and "The Heart of Japan". Objectively I think "The 60 Zone" will be reaching the charts next. There is a strange familiarity to the feel of the whole album and the whole collection will merge effortlessly with anyone's play list.
I will definitely have to give this album 5 stars (out of 5) and I guarantee that anyone who buys this album will be satisfied. People who enjoy The Killers, The Chameleons, U2 and Snow Patrol will definitely enjoy this One Night Stand.
The One Night Stands are:-
Lu - vocal & guitar George - drum & vocal Sarah - synthesizer & vocal Martin - bass guitar
