More recently, we find Gareth pursuing a solo career, introducing South Africa to Modern Country. With the help of some seriously passionate and talented session musicians, he is now able to share his ‘story songs’ with the world. He released his EP in August 2012 and has completed his long awaited debut album, released in December 2012. He has been collaborating with musicians namely, Natasha Meister, Jesse Jordan, Gavin Edwards and Kyknet’s Die Sanger winner, Pierre Rossouw. They all share his passion for music and the joint creative process has borne fruit, giving us the album, ‘Your Song’.
His first single ‘Everything I’ve got’ (which was written in Nashville by Gavin Edwards, Robby De Sa and Dakota Jay) was played on 94.5Kfm, UCT Radio, KnysnaFM, Bok Radio, AFM and MpowerFM.’ Everything I’ve got’ has also received some notice oversees, playing on international radio stations such as Pur-Country in Germany, Radio4 in Netherlands, ST FlorianAm in Austria, NBRN.FM and WHIS Wildhorse Internet Radio in Nashville, Tennessee, the capitol of Country Music.
A review of his song was done by Sandy Taylor, a native of Myrtle Beach, South Caroline in the US and can be viewed at http://www.smctaylor.com/wp/2012/06/everything-ive-got . Some good reading and in the process, he gained some more fans, who are ready and willing to share his music with the world at large. He’s 2nd single ‘Get To You’ was picked up by Bok Radio, AFM, Zone Radio, RSG and many more.
In 2014 Gareth got snatched up by Dennis East of SHIAM Music Label and is currently in the process of recording he’s 2nd album. The 1st single “My lil Somethin’ Somethin’” was released to radio in July/August 2014.

Kathryn Swain biography:
Kathryn is a Capetonian singer/songwriter with big dreams. She wrote her first song at the age of seven and loves to use her musical talent to capture the trials and triumphs of life in a way that everyone can relate to.

“To me, songwriting is both the reflection of a journey and a journey in itself. Sometimes I write about my own personal experiences or things that I’ve watched my friends and other people go through. I see my songs like bubbles that capture my emotions… writing them is my way of working through stuff and expressing myself,” says Kathryn.

Kathryn was born in Cape Town in January of 1994 and spent her early childhood there before relocating with her family to Nashville, Tennessee where she lived from 2003-2008. Having moved again to Stratford-upon-Avon, England from 2009-mid 2010, her songwriting began to flow, and she completed her education back in Cape Town in 2012.

Since then, she has performed her music in numerous different venues in and around Cape Town, as well as on the Blue Lobster stage at the Oppi Koppi Festival in 2013.

Notably, she also worked with MSC Cruises internationally in late 2014 entertaining their guests on the Portuguese Island in Mozambique and recently opened for popular Indie folk duo “Digby and the Lullaby” as part of the Winter Series at The Annex as well as opening for them again at popular venue Cafe Roux in Noordhoek.

Kathryn has recorded her first alternative pop album entitled “Little Box of Memories” with producer Duncan Mackay of Down South Studios, who himself played keyboards for 1970’s megaband 10CC. Her album is available for download on Itunes.
